The project is implemented with the support of European and Moldavian Office of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Health Organisation (WHO)<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minzdravpmr.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ministry of Health from Transnistria<\/a>. The project period :<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD:\u00a0<\/strong>January 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2014 &#8211; December 31<sup>st<\/sup> 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>DONOR:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saafund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECT GOAL:<\/strong> To increase the quality of abortion care within a comprehensive package of reproductive health services in Transnistria, through transfer of good practices of institutionalization of Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) model in Moldova<\/p>\n<p><strong>The specific objectives<\/strong> of the project are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To increase the quality of abortion care in the Reproductive Health (RH) center in Tiraspol the main body for the RH services, and scale up the CAC model to the 7 existing RH offices in the region, ensuring that at least 80% of women, requesting pregnancy termination, receive CAC services in line with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WHO<\/a> recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>To obtain the institutionalization of the model of ambulatory CAC services in Transnistria.<\/li>\n<li>To increase the community awareness on modern contraception and safe abortion in the context of women\u2019s sexual and reproductive rights and health and the demand for high quality abortion services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PROJECT ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modest renovation of the procedure and recovery room in 8 RH centres in Transnistria.<\/li>\n<li>Equipping the new 8 CAC Centres with supplies and meds.<\/li>\n<li>Approval by the local health authorities of the national CAC standards and indicators for data collection on quality of abortion care.<\/li>\n<li>Uploading on the RH center website of the articles\/news on safe abortion, modern methods of contraception and sexual reproductive rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPACT of the PROJECT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Was allowed the order on performing MVA and MA in Tiraspol.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y2 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">On \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.avort.md\/\">avort.md<\/a> was created a special <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avort.md\/?page_id=21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">compartment Reproductive Health in Transnistria<\/a> <\/span>where are reflected all activities that have been conducted in region.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y4 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">With the support and approval of MoH from the region, has been done a modest renovation of the <\/span>procedure and recovery room in Tiraspol RH center.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y6 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">Were conducted two CAC trainings, 44 gynecologists were trained from all medical institutions from <\/span>region.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y8 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">All medical institutions from region were equipped with supplies and meds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y9 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">For the first time the local press wrote and spoke openly in a TV programme about safe abortion, <\/span>women\u2019s SRHR, modern methods of contraception.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2yb pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">Have elaborated informative materials for women, men and adolescents on safe abortion, modern <\/span>methods of contraception and sexual reproductive rights. 1000 posters were disseminated in all\u00a0medical institutions from region.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2ye pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">Until the end of the year, the working group will adapt and approve the statistical reporting form of <\/span>abortion.<\/li>\n<li class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x1 pg-2h2 pg-2y10 pg-2ff2 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\"><span class=\"pg-2ff3\">Until the end of the year we will finish the modest renovation in 2 CAC model centers.
