Thanks to the project – “Strengthening Moldova’s social cohesion and resilience to the Ukrainian refugee crisis” with the support of Solidarities International, the fourth round of the “Summer Challenge” camp in the Adam Mickiewicz Library has ended.
New friendships, new challenges, emotions, discussions, unforgettable memories, new places discovered, information, surprises and of course a lot of smiles – these are the notions that describe the 4th tour of the camp “Summer Challenge – 2023”.
During these 2 weeks the children continued to participate in different board games such as:
- The board game: surprise maze;
- Board game: “On the way home”, with social expert Elena Prutean;
- Board game: 7 people build a house;
- Board game: Puzzle Mapa Polski.
The children also continued to be involved in various workshops:
- Cooking workshop: fruit jelly in a glass;
- Cooking workshop: chocolate cake in the microwave;
- Cooking workshop: Pizza with healthy ingredients;
- Creative workshop: Friendship bracelets;
- Creative workshop: Painting on Eco torches;
- Creative workshop: Colourful paper mill;
- Creative workshop: Create a postcard from coloured paper;
- Creative workshop: Painting in abstract technique “Mosaic”;
- Creative workshop: Magnet “My eco Moldova”;
- Gardening workshop: ECO garden on the windowsill (we plant peas);
- Practical workshop: Turn your balcony into a garden;
- Calligraphic writing workshop at the National Museum of History of the Republic of Moldova.
As mentioned before, excursions remain one of the most enjoyable activities for the children in our camp.
So but excursions were organized:
- Trip to the “Stefan the Great and Holy” Park;
- Trip to the “Valley of the Mills” Park;
- Trip to the Memorial Complex “Eternity”;
- Trip to the Butterfly Zoo Chisinau / Butterfly Garden;
- Trip to Rose Valley Park;
- Excursion to “Wagons of Pain” – exhibition in PMAN, in memory of the victims of Stalinist deportations;
- Trip to the National Museum of History of Moldova;
- Trip to the “Rifero” Chocolate Factory;
- Visit to the Fire Station, sec. Centre;
- Visit to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova;
- Visit to the Museum LT “Aurel David” village Bardar, rn. Ialoveni;
- Visit to the music studio of the singer Adriana Spunei;
- Visit to the District Museum of History and Ethnography “Anatol Candu”, village Văsieni, rn. Ialoveni.
But the children were most impressed by the visit to the Bakery in Bardar.
Here they discovered how to prepare the dough for different bakes, how to shape it and how to obtain the tastiest and most aromatic bread.
The highlight of the trip was when the children were challenged to weave a loaf and a hulubas themselves.
Of course, the visit ended with a tasting of the most delicious products from the Bradăr Bakery.
No less beautiful and interesting was the meeting with the poet Grigore Gacikevici and the dicussion of the most interesting poems about animals.
The children were also involved in different trainings, one of which would be :
Interior design of children’s room (trainer: Marina Usataia – designer, architect);
Also a lot of pleasure and curiosity brought to the children outdoor games, music classes, English classes, reading tour: Read at least 20 minutes/day, discussions with psychologists from INTERSOS Moldova: “Providing psychological support to improve interpersonal relationships”,
Likewise, the children were gladly involved in the Scholar Contests:
Happy Birthday, Chisinau! and the Scholarly Competition based on the work: King Matthias the First, by Janusz Korczak and in the thematic discussions:
- Thematic discussion: Be safe, the police inform you (IGP of MAI);
- Thematic discussion: Plants in the park “Stefan cel Mare cel Mare e Sfânt”;
- Thematic discussion: Discover the most suitable renewable energy sources;
- Thematic discussion: Rules of behaviour in case of fire;
